Under the lordship of his king, Asbrey of Westender was a heroic and fearless knight. A pale shadow of his former self, he now lives in poverty as a reckless drunk.
During a night of debauchery, he inadvertently loses his most prized possession—a ring. Bruised and beaten, he awakes the next morning to find it gone. When helearns that cruel slavers stole it, he pledges to hunt them down and retrieve it. Along his quest, Asbrey’s resolve and confidence are tested as danger, betrayal, doubt and fear haunt him. With the assistance of a vast cast of characters he encounters on his journey, he faces his ultimate personal challenge to redeem himself.
